Statement on COVID-19
Sara Woosencraft
We’d like to take a moment to thank all of you – our past and present customers – who continue to support Relish Kitchen Store and our cooking classes. We are a small business and YOU are what makes it continue to run! We understand these are trying times and the news feels like it’s changing on an hourly basis. Our goal is to continue to provide our visitors with a fun, educational and safe environment. Your safety is very important to us.
Relish has always maintained high quality food handling and sanitation practices in both the store and the kitchen, and we’re using this unique situation to create the opportunity to reinforce them. Here are the actions we’re taking:
- Frequent cleaning of shared surfaces in the store including door knobs, checkout, cabinet handles, chairs, etc.
- Cleaning all cook and prep surfaces before AND after a cooking class
- Thorough hand-washing in our classes by both staff and guests
- Gloves will be available to wear while working with food
- Providing hand sanitizer for customers to use
- Employees are instructed to stay at home if they are sick
Additionally, we have decided to CANCEL our Spring Break Kids Camp and Easter kids classes. This was a hard decision to make because we don’t want to disappoint our young chefs, but safety is paramount. We will keep class credits for each current sign up, and these students will get advanced notice for rescheduled camps and classes.
We have taken these drastic measures to provide a safe environment for our guests, but we need your help too. If you feel you might be sick or that you may have been exposed to the virus, please, stay home. We will be happy to provide you a credit for the purchase price to your booking account for your use on any future class.
We will continue monitoring the advice and guidance of the Centers for Disease control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), along with local health officials for the state of Wisconsin and the City of Sheboygan and in the event anything changes, we will notify you via Facebook and RelishKitchenStore.com
In other news…
Relish will follow our normal business hours, until it is advised by experts not to stay open. Once again, closing outright would be crushing for our small business, so we hope that you will continue to shop with us with confidence. We are proud to be your local resource for cookware and supplies, and especially want to be here for you during this time when cooking at home is required.
We are happy to assist you with orders over the phone at 920-458-1898 or via email inquiries at RelishKitchenStore@gmail.com – and we will also provide curbside pickup if you prefer not to come into the store. Gift Certificates are also available toward future purchases. These can be purchased via phone or at our website: RelishKitchenStore.com.
As this situation evolves, we will communicate any changes in our decisions to you. Relish has always been a place for you to come have a great conversation about food and cooking and we’re hoping to still be here for you in these upcoming weeks.
Let’s continue to be here for each other and our community. In whatever way you can, please support local Sheboygan businesses during this time – we need you! We welcome your comments and suggestions.
